Hi Judith,
We promised to keep in touch and I just wanted to let you know how much we love Waldo. He has become the center of our life! He is so sweet and loving, and I have a few pictures attached to show you how well he's getting along with our cats. I am so glad we waited for just the right dog, I hope he lives 20 years! Thanks again for everything,
Leslie & Dave

My vet was very impressed with all her paper work and how thoroughly her testing and vaccinations were in order.

Minnie has settled in nicely now. She now knows she can trust us and we aren't going to hurt her. Thank you again for rescuing dogs. We are in love with our little Pearl.

What I did on Summer Vacation
by Hannah
Above Center: Playing a game of tug with my sib. Boy, that's fun.
Above Right: Trying out the dog paddle moves I learned in swimming lessons. Not bad.
Left: Just staying cool with one of my buddies
Right: Trying to keep up with my brother. He is awesome to play with!
I am so thankful I was rescued by my wonderful new family! Life is GREAT!!!

Hi Sue and Judith,
These are some of the pictures I've taken so far. As you can see, Noah has made himself right at home and Ivy absolutely adores him! They are so great together (you were right Sue). They kiss each other all the time, eat together, share bones, snuggle together, and they both show me much love! Noah has now learned to sit nicely. He's just starting to learn "down" for lie down. We need to work on COME! It's kinda funny because Ivy has always been stubborn with come, but she comes to me just about everytime I call them now! We need to "go get Noah" A LOT because he's been ignoring me lately because he's been too darn busy with checking out the squirrels and the kids next door! Noah has been "obsessed" with a corner of my neighbor's yard - barking like crazy at "who knows what"! I brought him to the other side of the fence so he could see there was nothing there, but he still barks at "it". I've had to cover my fence with a tarp until he gets over it! Every day, I pull the tarp away and he starts barking at it again. Hopefully he'll get bored with it real soon!!! Noah is a great dog. He is so cuddly, gentle and loving and he knows I'm his Mama! I couldn't ask for a better little boy or a better match for my Ivy. Oh, he's also extremely TUFF! I can't believe how rough he and Ivy play sometimes! I love him and I feel blessed to have the both of them in my life - they are my little family...

Hello Aunties:):):):):)
Look at me now!!!I am resting after a hard day of working in the bone factory but you see how shiny I am and my eyes are sparkling.
Mommy and daddy and my sister dogs and cat thank me every day for coming to live with them. They don't even mind when I hide behind something and jump on their backs. WHOOPIE what alot of fun we have chasing each other around the house.
I am so happy you took care of me until I found a forever home. Thank you.....
Love and sloppy kisses

Hi there! It's hard to believe that it's been 2 yrs since I adopted Monty (formerly Chipper). He's such a wonderful guy. Feels as though he's always been a member of the family. He knew he was home the moment he came into the house on 9/20/04, and that was that. He got the nickname Boo Boo Dog after he injured his back in Jan. 05. Just came out of my mouth when I retrieved him from the vet that day and it stuck. By the way, he's not had any issues with his back since then. I've got him on a joint vitamin and he's using the sets of steps I've built for him to get on and off the beds and couch. He is so smart about everything, but super smart about not re-injuring his back. As wild as he can get when he's playing and tearing around the house he's still careful not to get too carried away. He's also had a wonderful playmate in the little Shih Tzu I adopted last October. He and Ginger are wrestling partners and have a wonderful time together.
Anyhow, just wanted to touch base with you and thank you for bringing Monty into my life. I took the attached picture sometime around Labor Day.

Judith,
Everything is going VERY well...little Benjamin "Fenway" is so adorable...he has adjusted beautifully. He is totally trained...not a hint of an accident. I was hesitant about the idea of a crate but am so glad we went that route. It's his little "home" and he takes his toys in and out of it...we don't have to close the door as he can be contained in the kitchen when we are not at home. He hasn't quite learned how to do the stairs in our house, but I'm sure he'll catch on in no time.
My colleagues at work had a surprise dog "shower" for me on Monday afternoon....complete with cake and dog presents. I'm going to bring him in tomorrow to meet everyone as he'll become part of the culture here. The neighbors, and their dogs, think he's terrific and apparently he is the "talk of the neighborhood."
I'll keep in touch. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

Hello Judith,
Just wanted to drop a short note about Lucky. He's doing just fine, he had his first weekend away with me visiting friends and he was an absolute gentleman. Everyone just loves him, all he has to do is look at people and after a few seconds they comment on how cute he is. He is also very well behaved and understands much more than I expected.
I can't tell you how happy I am that Lucky and I found each other, I enjoy being with him more than most people I know. He's always at my side whether I'm cooking or relaxing in the living room and of course, sleeps on the bed, he's now in the habit of using the other pillow and he's so cute I can't tell him no.
I hope you don't mind hearing from us once in a while, I like to share his adventures with someone who appreciates it.
" I get the word out about your organization whenever I have the chance, I think it's wonderful that people adopt needy pets and give them loving homes. It is also impressive that there is an adoption process so they aren't given to just anyone and follow-up to ensure the pets welfare once they're placed. Thank you.

MISSY is our new pal. She joined our family on July 22, 2006, only a few weeks after Gidget's death. We already love her dearly.
Missy is about 7 months old now and about 28 pounds. She and her mother were strays in the Memphis area, then in an animal shelter there. They were adopted out of that shelter and placed in a foster home by Responsible Animal Owners of Tennessee, which then connected with Canine Guardians for Life in New Hampshire to find her a new home. We found her through Petfinders.com!
Now That's Networking!

Hi Judith,
Hope you are having a great fall. I wanted to tell you how extremely happy and grateful we are to have Flower as part of our household here in Portland. She is just a lovely dog and we enjoy her so much. I must say, she seems extremely happy and well adjusted. She gets lots of walks, including coastal hikes, time to play at the doggy park, and more local adventures. She has two crates and sleeps peacefully in one in our bedroom. We almost always get home for lunch with her so she rarely has more than three or four hours on her own.
I just love her so much! It's a revelation because she's my first canine companion as an adult.
Best,
Lesley H. |

Theona is wonderful. She is very dear, very smart and has adjusted just fine.....We're very happy..... Theona has a way of looking straight into my eyes that says so much; she does it all the time.
Once again thank you so much. They were sleeping on the couch last night, Rhiannan's head over Theona's back and I thought about her in Tennessee and how we would never have found each other but for you.
All the best,
Mary |
